Alan will be serving on an opening keynote panel with fellow distinguished prevention researchers discussing the state of prevention research, compelling findings, effective programs and new directions. He will also facilitate roundtables and breakout sessions on topics such as the social norms approach, sexual assault prevention, bystander intervention and skills.
Alan is an independent consultant who helps colleges, universities, public health agencies and communities design programs that address health and social justice issues. His expert opinion is frequently sought after by the federal government, the military, and professional organizations, and he is well-known for scholarship and innovative programs which address issues of substance abuse, sexual assault, gender, and diversity. He has received five awards from national organizations for his work in these areas.
